About Us

Who We Are

Maracha Community Development Centre (MarCDC) is a local Community Based Organization founded and registered in Uganda. The organization is registered with Maracha District Local Government Directorate of Community Service under registration number CD/548/MDLG. The mandate of the Organization is to ensure that the poor and vulnerable people (especially the women and children) are able to meet their basic needs to enhance sustainable development, to rehabilitate boys engaged in drug abuse and petty criminal offences and to improve agriculture within the members of Drambu Community. The Organization’s programme focuses on its three (3) strategic sectors namely: Livelihood (including promotion of improved and Sustainable Agriculture through availing improved seedlings, tools, herbicides and pesticide), Education (including giving a helping hand to disadvantaged girls and boys within the community by providing scholastic materials, trainings, identifying and paying their school fees among others), rehabilitation (especially of boys engaged in drug abuse, petty crimes through sports, development of talent and engaging them in vocational trainings such as welding, carpentry) and Climate Change.

MISSION STATEMENT:     To bring together the community to discuss common developmental issues aimed at improving standard of living and transforming the Community for positive development.
